IN A SENTIMENTAL MOOD (Sept. 2010)
Nominated for JAZZ ALBUM OF THE YEAR by the 2010 MAMAs (Madison Area Music Association)
and JAZZ SONG OF THE YEAR 2010 for "(Life's Too Short To Be) Just One Person"
This is a special collection of standards and jazz-flavored originals, recorded following a special jazz-themed benefit show in March 2009 which helped to fund a mission trip to New Orleans (more below). On this album, Tracy and friends perform works by Gershwin, Ellington, Arlen and others, plus with two originals. Featuring Tracy (vocals, guitar, piano) plus Ben Johnston Urey (piano), Steve Kasprzak (upright bass), Leif Madsen (drums), and Randy Green (piano, synth) Produced by Randy Green (Randy's Recording).
More about this CD, from Tracy: "These are just a few of the tunes we performed in February
2009 during a benefit show for the Youth Ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church in Madison, WI (www.gslcwi.com/). The event raised funds
for the group to attend the ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans, where more than 30,000 young
people joined in worship, learning, fellowship, and service. We had such a good
time doing the show (which is a bit of a departure from my normal material) we wanted to preserve a small sample! A portion of the sales from this CD will benefit Good
Shepherd’s Youth Ministry for future projects. Thank you for your support!"

QUIETLY THERE (Nov. 2004) Nominated for BEST ACOUSTIC ALBUM in the 2005 Madison Area Music Awards (MAMAs)
2005 KWEEVAK MUSIC AWARDS Winner
FIVE AWARD-WINNING SONGS
Tracy performs on vocals, guitar, cello, and piano, with several guest instrumentalists (bass, drums/percussion, harp, hammered dulcimer and more). Fourteen acoustic tracks including 13 originals plus one Lennon/McCartney song. Produced by Randy Green (Randy's Recording), this is a moving and dynamic follow-up to Tracy's previous solo recordings and has received rave reviews in
the US and abroad. Material ranges from lively band arrangements to acoustic guitar solos to intimate acoustic ballads. This sophisticated and mature album showcases Tracy's diverse musical influences and versatility. Includes award-winning tracks "Take Me To The Mountain," "Quietly There," "Yellow Bike," "Baggage," and "This Losing Game (Goodnight Moon)." The instrumental tune "Movin' in the Right Direction" was used on two episodes of MTV's reality show Made). Insert includes lyrics. REVIEW in Smother.Net Ezine, November 28, 2004: "Well it's
not going to be 'quietly there' for much longer for Tracy Jane Comer. This singer/songwriter is key to moving the whole darn genre forward. Her sound is mature and soaked with talent throughout this dynamic take of contemporary acoustic rock that's not afraid to plug things in on occasion...Soon I have no doubt that Wisconsin will be known for more than just cheese and Brett Favre's Packers - they'll be known as the lynchpin holding the doors open to soft rock in the singer/songwriter format. Superb." -

SECOND WIND (Debut album, 2002)
Nominated for BEST ACOUSTIC ALBUM by the 2004 Madison Area Music Awards**
THREE AWARD-WINNING SONGS

Lightly produced with a very live, acoustic feel, you’ll hear Tracy’s vocals and performances on guitar, cello, piano, and hammered dulcimer, plus appearances by several guest musicians. Produced by Randy Green. VH1's SONG OF THE YEAR international songwriting contest named "A Father's Lament" as a finalist in the Folk category (September 2004), and "The Heart

"...Soothing and expertly produced, without a wrong note in the thing..." - Matt Pierce, Splendid E-zine "...Tracy shows off a deft touch on the guitar and good use of cello, hammered dulcimer and various percussion instruments, [though] her voice may
be the best instrument, always well-toned and showing a nice melisma that isn't overused." - B-Section E-News (Madison Songwriters Group), April 2003

LIKELY STORIES (collaborative singer-songwriter trio)
(self-titled CD, 2009)
Likely Stories (Tracy Jane Comer, Nancy Rost, and Dave Schindele)
"Chamber folk": Elegantly arranged originals (piano, cello, guitar, percussion and voices) born from the collaborative efforts of 3 noteworthy Madison WI songwriters. This CD is the debut recording from Likely Stories, a Madison, Wisconsin based group of three singer-songwriters who perform and record collaboratively. The three share lead duties while blending voices and instruments including keyboards, cello, guitar, percussion, sometimes fiddle, melodica and more. They bring radically diverse styles together in an amazingly satisfying way.
Likely Stories is largely a studio project, rather than a regularly performing one. Members of the group have active solo careers, and their collaborative work as Likely Stories is a side project for each of them. Because Nancy, Dave and Tracy share a love of making music with others, you can often find any of them performing with other colleagues or as part of additional side projects (mostly in the Madison area) as well as making guest appearances at each others’ solo shows. See their individual websites (link from www.likelystories.us) for more information about each member and their other musical endeavors.
EXCERPT FROM REVIEW IN THE ISTHMUS: "...the
most creative concept album to come out of Madison so far this
year...The album's execution ultimately fulfills the ambitious concept,
making Likely Stories a local release to be reckoned with.." [read full review] Rich Albertoni, The Isthmus (8/21/2009)
